Low-Calorie Donuts: Simple & Delicious!

Ingredients for Donuts:

  • 1 egg (or a flax egg for a vegan alternative)
  • A pinch of salt
  • 1 tbsp sweetener (stevia or your preferred choice)
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 100g Greek yogurt (10% fat) or approximately 1/4 cup
  • 55g oat flour or approximately 1/2 cup
  • 1 tsp cacao or carob powder
  • 1 tsp baking powder

Ingredients for Cream Topping:

  • 100g Greek yogurt (10% fat) or approximately 1/4 cup
  • 1 tbsp protein powder

Instructions:

  1. Donut Batter:
    • Preheat the oven to 180Β°C (360Β°F).
    • In a mixing bowl, beat the egg (or flax egg) with the sweetener and salt.
    • Add the vanilla extract and Greek yogurt to the mixture and blend until smooth.
    • Gradually fold in the oat flour, cacao (or carob) powder, and baking powder. Mix until the ingredients are well combined and the batter is smooth.
  2. Baking:
    • Spoon the batter into a greased donut pan, filling each mold about two-thirds full.
    • Place in the preheated oven and bake for 15-17 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into a donut comes out clean.
    • Once done, remove from the oven and let the donuts cool in the pan for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
  3. Cream Topping:
    • In a bowl, combine Greek yogurt and protein powder. Mix well until smooth and creamy.
  4. Serve:
    • Once the donuts have cooled, spread or dollop the cream topping on each donut.

Enjoy your delectable, low-calorie donuts guilt-free! Perfect for breakfast, snack, or a light dessert.
