Ingredients:

Preparation:

  1. If you’re using frozen squid, make sure to thaw it first. Ideally, choose larger and thicker pieces. The ones used here were quite thin, which made them challenging to fry individually.
  2. Set up three bowls: In the first, whisk the eggs. In the second, place the flour. In the third, combine equal parts of flour and bread crumbs. Estimate around 60g for each mix.
  3. Roll the squid pieces in the flour, dip them into the whisked eggs, and then coat them with the flour and breadcrumb mixture.
  4. Heat oil in a pan. Fry the squid until they turn golden brown.
  5. Once done frying, remove the excess oil. Add the chopped bell peppers to the pan and season with salt. Cook for a few minutes until they soften.
  6. Pour in the sweet and spicy sauce and add the fried squid. Mix well, season again if needed, and incorporate the grapefruit or orange slices.
  7. Stir everything together to ensure the squid is well-coated with the sauce. Serve and enjoy!
